Du premier en ce qui concerne la transposition des personnages sur un plan symbolique&nbsp;; du second pour tout le c\u00f4t\u00e9 f\u00e9erique de la chor\u00e9graphie&nbsp;; f\u00e9erie 1953, si l\u2019on veut&nbsp;!<\/p>\n<p>Le ballet ne dispose que d\u2019un nombre limit\u00e9 de sujets&nbsp;: la danse ne peut rien raconter&nbsp;; l\u2019\u00e9motion est son domaine, une \u00e9motion qu\u2019elle transfigure, qu\u2019elle utilise pour cr\u00e9er ses symboles plastiques. Car la danse peut-elle \u00eatre autre chose qu\u2019une succession de symboles trac\u00e9s dans l\u2019espace et dont la puissance de suggestion mesure la pens\u00e9e du chor\u00e9auteur&nbsp;?<\/p>\n<p>Le sujet de <em>Cin\u00e9ma<\/em> est simple&nbsp;: une jeune fille, s\u00e9duite par les attraits de Hollywood, renonce \u00e0 la danse, puis revient \u00e0 son art pour triompher dans le ballet de l\u2019Op\u00e9ra. Devaient d\u2019abord figurer des personnages connus, concrets&nbsp;: Charlot, Greta Garbo, Marl\u00e8ne Dietrich, etc. N\u2019\u00e9tait-ce point, d\u2019une mani\u00e8re ou d\u2019une autre, tomber dans le pastiche, alors que la parodie n\u2019a jamais \u00e9t\u00e9 un moyen d\u2019art&nbsp;? C\u2019est pourquoi, d\u00e9pouillant les personnages de tous leurs traits <em>particuli\u00e8rement humains<\/em>, j\u2019ai pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9 ne conserver d\u2019eux que le g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement, <em>l\u2019universellement humain<\/em>, tout ce qui les entoure d\u2019une aur\u00e9ole de l\u00e9gende et les fait p\u00e9n\u00e9trer dans une mythologie nouvelle, conforme \u00e0 notre sensibilit\u00e9, soumise \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9preuve du temps et de la stylisation.
