Quelques sc\u00e8nes de <em>Salade<\/em>, dont le souvenir brillant reste ineffa\u00e7able, ont pass\u00e9 dans la nouvelle com\u00e9die chor\u00e9graphique&nbsp;: celle, par exemple, o\u00f9 un galant militaire, faisant parader ses soldats paresseux, fait rouer de coups Scapin qui s\u2019\u00e9tait faufil\u00e9 dans leurs rangs. Cette sc\u00e8ne suivie de la danse de Scapin se relevant avec peine et ex\u00e9cutant une saltation sur un seul pied, tenant l\u2019autre \u00e0 la main, refl\u00e8te des moments identiques de <em>Salade<\/em>. Mais on n\u2019y retrouve plus l\u2019envol fabuleux de Polichinelle qui traversait en l\u2019air toute la sc\u00e8ne, car <em>Les Fourberies<\/em> furent r\u00e9gl\u00e9es dans le style des interm\u00e8des chor\u00e9graphiques de Moli\u00e8re ex\u00e9cut\u00e9s par les artistes de sa propre troupe. Lifar ne s\u2019\u00e9lan\u00e7a pas en l\u2019air dans le r\u00f4le de Scapin. S\u2019interdisant tout envol, il para\u00eet au d\u00e9but endormi sur la place publique, et saute les marches, les jambes emprisonn\u00e9es dans le sac dont il s\u2019\u00e9tait couvert pour la nuit. Sa variation est comique avec des <em>lazzi<\/em> \u00e0 l\u2019italienne&nbsp;: poings ferm\u00e9s, il saute pliant les jambes, puis tombe par terre, battant des pieds en l\u2019air, faisant mille prouesses dont la difficult\u00e9 se dissimule sous la dr\u00f4lerie. Son <em>adagio<\/em> avec l\u2019\u00c9gyptienne (Nina Vyroubova) est teint\u00e9 de lyrisme tout en gardant son style comique. Il admire la danseuse qui, elle, se lance en piqu\u00e9s et <em>petites sauteries<\/em> avec beaucoup de brio et de virtuosit\u00e9, devant Scapin qui la tourne avec pr\u00e9caution, lui tient admirablement la jambe lev\u00e9e en <em>grand battement<\/em>. Le \u00ab&nbsp;Pas-de-Six&nbsp;\u00bb, en forme de <em>fugue<\/em>, est une nouveaut\u00e9 tout en conservant le style de la <em>commedia dell\u2019arte<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Les discussions amusantes avec les vieux parents tromp\u00e9s, Scapin marchant avec eux autour de la sc\u00e8ne, l\u2019enl\u00e8vement par les bandits costum\u00e9s, les apparitions sur les balcons et les descentes par des \u00e9chelles, les pas de deux et pas de quatre des couples amoureux&nbsp;; et les danses pleines d\u2019entrain de l\u2019\u00c9gyptienne, tiennent en suspens l\u2019attention du spectateur. Tout se termine par une danse g\u00e9n\u00e9rale sur trois plans, ex\u00e9cut\u00e9e avec une verve vraiment moli\u00e9resque.<\/p>\n<p>Cette com\u00e9die chor\u00e9graphique en deux actes de Robert Manuel et Serge Lifar (cr\u00e9\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019Op\u00e9ra le 27 f\u00e9vrier 1952) b\u00e9n\u00e9ficia d\u2019un tr\u00e8s beau d\u00e9cor de Roland Oudot. Tony Aubin \u00ab arrangea \u00bb la musique de Rossini.
